In 2001, Meditor completed a post-approval Phase IV (Phase IIa) clinical trial aiming to collect safety data as well as to explore the potential end points reflecting benefit to patients. In this study 36 patients who had undergone valve replacement and/or coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery were treated with MTR-105 during the operative procedures and in the post-operative intensive care unit.
The results indicated that MTR-105 increased systolic BP in a statistically significant manner during the post bypass period.
It was concluded from this clinical trial results that MTR105 may be useful in treating hypotension in patients during the postoperative period in patients who had undergone valve replacement and/or coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery.
